Join BCC AD for a panel event in collaboration with The Chartered Institute for Procurement and Supply (CIPS). In a session moderated by Sam Achampong, General Manager of CIPS, we will hear insights from expert industry representatives on the timely topic of 'The Effect of Procurement & Supply Chain in a Diversified Economy: Navigating the New Normal.'


The panel discussion will be with representatives of the logistics, procurement and supply industries to discuss the impact of the global pandemic and other recent world events on these industries.


There will be opportunity for audience input, with the following topics posed to the panel:


  • How are countries in the region diversifying their economies to deal with new economic realities?
  • What is the role of procurement in these initiatives?
  • How can supply chain disruptions be mitigated?
  • What part does technology play in providing sustainable solutions?

He led different teams with different initiatives which added value to the organizations in the area of reconstruction of procurement strategy, operational, model, processes, people development and rebuild procurement to support the organization digital business model.

    Sulaiman is a procurement professional holds bachelor bachelor degree in business administration (BBA), certified international commercial contract manger (CICCM), certified international supply chain professional (CISCP), certified international supply chain manager (CISCM), holding also a diploma in property management, international certificate in leadership and management (ILM) and uplifting service champion.

    He is currently managing the role of procurement and contracts manager ang has a past experience over 10 years in different industries including governmental and private sectors telecommunications, IT services, social services, and property management.

    Sam is a senior executive with extensive experience in Procurement and Supply Chain management across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. He has held Senior Procurement and Strategic Sourcing roles for organisations such as Land Securities in the UK, Abu Dhabi Municipality in the Middle East and MTN across Africa.

    An active member of the procurement fraternity, Sam is currently General Manager of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) for the MENA Region.

    He holds a Master’s Degree in International Procurement from the University of Glamorgan , MSc in Facilities Management from the University of Westminster and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.

    He is a regular speaker at industry events and an advocate for professional standards in procurement and supply management.

    Mr. Al Saeedi has spearheaded multiple initiatives throughout his career, in particular, he has been instrumental in the development of digital tools, sustainable practices, frameworks and methods of working designed to reduce costs and boost efficiency. His achievements, such as the award of CIPS Platinum Certification in record time and making DCT only the 12th organization in the world to receive the accreditation, have not gone unnoticed.

    In recognition of his work, the Director has been rewarded with over a dozen award nominations. Accolades received in 2019-20 include Mr. Waleed Al Saeedi being named in the Top 10 Supply Chain Executives of the World by Supply Chain digital magazine and received the “Procurement Leader Award 2020” from Future Procurement Leaders. Furthermore, for the 2018 CIPS MENA Procurement awards Mr. Al Saeedi won the Procurement & Supply Chain Professional of the Year Award.

    Christopher Bentley was appointed a Fellow to the CIPS in 2017, and current works for DAS Holding. He directs DAS’s procurement functions throughout the Group, providing strategic policy, leadership and direction.

    Christopher has an Honors Degree in Quantity Surveying from Bristol University and holds numerous professional accreditations in the field of Strategic Procurement.

    During his 25-year career Christopher has been involved in many facets of acquisition. These include Commercial Management of Fast Track Fit out Projects in London, to Contracts Management of Critical Infrastructure Projects in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. Within DAS Christopher now leads the Centralized Procurement function for one of Abu Dhabi’s leading and influential Holding Companies with over 50 separate Business Units feeding through the function.

    He has developed a clear mission to support DAS Holdings corporate vision and delivered a preferred, dynamic and strategically aligned Procurement Service. Working in close collaboration with DAS Business Units, the service has focused on optimizing the company cost base and the rationalization of the Group’s Supply Chain to provide a sustainable competitive advantage in every aspect of its global business.

    Sofiya has a Master’s in International Transport Engineering from Azov State Technical university (Ukraine) and in 2018 she became a Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply FCIPS.
