Key trade stats about the participating regions:

• Iran is the 2nd largest economy in the Middle East (GDP ~$500bn) after Saudi Arabia.
• Lebanon imports a staggering 80% of its products and most of the country's oil, meat, grain and other supplies come from abroad.
• Pakistan is South Asia's second largest economy with a population set to rise to 353 million by 2050, growing consumer demand, and an affinity for UK expertise, products and brands; there are good opportunities to increase bilateral trade.
• There is a great need for infrastructure development in Iraq, from planning and engineering to construction. In 2018, the Ministry of Planning set the value on this need at US$88bn.
• Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Jordan was £642 million in the four quarters to the end of Q3 2021, an increase of 8.1% or £48 million from the four quarters to the end of Q3 2020.
