Almost one year on from the British Chambers of Commerce delegation to COP28, the British Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi will bring together individuals, Corporates and government partners to discuss Abu Dhabi's journey to becoming a sustainable finance center.

    such as Total E&P in Paris, Mubadala Group, a state-owned firm that acts as the sovereign wealth fund of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

    Mariam is currently the CEO of Alteia Investment Company in Abu Dhabi. Where AlteiaFund provides financial solutions to non-bankable enterprises in remote communities and villages across 30 nations in Africa, she is passionate about the development of ESG, impact investing, and female empowerment. Providing financial resources and working with communities led to build school medical centers, training facilities, etc.

    Jennifer Chammas is based in Dubai and serves as Regional Head of Sustainability for HSBC Commercial Bank “CMB” in MENAT. Her current remit is to support middle market and large corporate customer to accelerate their transition in their own operations and their supply chain, as well as supporting the new economy businesses to grow. Jennifer has 12 years of diverse banking experience with HSBC with roles spanning across private banking, investment banking coverage, trade finance and strategy. She worked across 3 regions with HSBC in New York, London and currently Dubai. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance) from Boston University and a MBA from New York University (Stern) where she specialized in Leadership, Change Management and Strategy. Jennifer was born in Lebanon and moved to Boston at the age of 15. She is fluent in English, Arabic and French.

    Yariv is the co-founder and CEO of Ignite Power. Since founding the company in September 2014, Yariv has been recognized for disrupting the off-grid energy space. Commenting on Ignite’s approach, Kofi Annan said in March 2017: “Ignite Power turned the home-solar market on its head , doubling the total addressable market for solar home systems.” Such recognition has led the following recognition: Innovator of the Year Award 2017 (Rwanda Development Board), Winner: USD 15 million (IRENA/ADFD Project Facility), and Customer Value Leadership Award (Frost & Sullivan).

    Prior to founding and leading Ignite, Yariv was President of Camco Clean Energy plc (Camco) a global renewable energy developer with a focus on Africa. While at Camco, he oversaw the development and implementation of over 180 clean energy projects worth over USD 1 billion and was recognized with multiple awards for structured finance in the energy sector, including Best Project Developer (Point Carbon), Gold Award: Environmental Markets Winner (Energy Business Asia).

    He is a well-known international speaker and author, business leader, and innovative strategist. He is considered one of the premiere experts in the intersection of emerging business models and Geo-economies. Over the past 2 decades, serving as an impact investor and executive, Cohen built value-added businesses and technologies targeted at the developing world. He served as chairman, CEO and chief technology officer in high-growth companies, both public and private, operating in more than 20 countries. His experience spans a wide range of cross-border activities, which include investor, project developer, entrepreneur, Chinese TV commentator, mathematician and lecturer.

    As a serial entrepreneur and project developer, Cohen created one of the largest portfolios of Climate Change assets, with value of over $1B while working with dozens of blue-chip clients (Google, BP, Huaneng, Gazprom, Shell, BoA, Anglo-American), national governments (UK, EU, SA, Norway, Uganda) and Multinational organizations (World Bank, UN, European Commission, AFDB, DBSA, , WWF, AWF). Cohen holds an M.B.A. with high distinction and a master’s in research on negotiations, both from the London School of Business. He has multiple publications and registered patents.

    Racha Moukayed McClelland is the Managing Director of Howden Guardian Insurance Brokers, a Howden Broking Group company. With 21 years’ experience in the industry; a Diploma in Insurance from the Bahrain Institute of Banking & Finance; and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from the University of Phoenix; Racha has additional training in organizational leadership, business law, human capital management, applied business research and statistics, operations management, strategic planning and implementation, and ethical, legal, and regulatory issues in insurance.

    A recognized authority in her field, she was reelected to the Board of Directors of the Emirates Insurance Association to support the insurance community, encourage best practices, foster innovative solutions, and promote world-class business conduct and ethics to build a vibrant and sustainable industry. She is also a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce Abu Dhabi, and received an award from ImInclusive, an initiative by Ma’an, for employing people of determination. Her efforts resulted in awards for the Best Workplace in the Middle East, the Best Workplace for Women in the GCC, the Best Workplace in UAE, and the Best Workplace for Millennials in the Middle East from Great Place to Work®; among Global 200 Women Power Leaders 2024 by the White Page Leadership Conclave 2024; and as one of the Top 10 Women Leaders in the Middle East from Women Entrepreneur™. She has been recognized by Howden as a Net Zero Champion in the Middle East and Africa and is instrumental in the company’s sustainability initiatives.     Vikrant is the CEO of United Bank for Africa Plc in Dubai and leads the business in Middle East region. He has had a distinguished banking career of over 25 years working in Sub-Saharan Africa, United Kingdom, MENA and India.

    Prior to joining UBA, he worked for DIFC Authority (Government of Dubai), as Chief Representative - International Markets. His banking & financial markets career included roles as Regional Head of Institutional Sales, Sub Saharan Africa at Standard Chartered Bank, Prior to which he was Managing Director, at Société Générale in London where he was responsible for the banks MENA regional expansion strategy.

    Vikrant has also held senior management positions with Morgan Stanley in London; Citigroup in London, Dubai and Bahrain; HSBC in India; and Arthur Andersen & Co. in India.
    Vikrant holds a Bachelor of Law degree and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He also qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, where he ranked 18th in the All-India Merit list. He was also empanelled as a consultant for IFC (World Bank Group) and served as an Independent Non-Executive Director in Kazakhstan.
