Mona Alhashmi is the Acting Director of Social Entrepreneurship Division at the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an. In this role, she provides direction and oversight for strategy implementation as well as direct development of policies, plans and guidelines across the division to nurture social entrepreneurship and support the development of social enterprises and not for profit organizations. She is also responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Ma'an’s strategy and procedures for social entrepreneurship and establishing partnerships with support agencies across the UAE and internationally.

Mona began her tenure at Ma’an in November 2019 as the Acceleration Program Senior Specialist before being promoted to the Incubator Chief and Head of Social Incubator & Accelerator Section where she led the successful deployment of the Ma’an Social Incubator program and the Ma’an Grants program.

Prior to joining the Authority, Mona served as Senior Market Analyst at Media Zone Authority (twofour54), where she focused her efforts on supporting twofour54’s core business operations through conducting external and internal research studies. Before that, she was an Economic Analyst at the Office of Strategy and Corporate Planning, Strategy and Commercial Division of Dolphin Energy.

Paul Paterson is the founder of Elevation Sustainable Building Solutions, an engineering consultancy on a mission to improve the sustainability of the built environment.

With more than 20 years of experience working in engineering, sustainable design, project management and construction, Paul brings a 360 degree view to construction and real estate projects. He understands both the engineering elements, and the potential of technology to enhance operational performance and improve building efficiency.

From working on gold standard building projects in the UK, including the highly-acclaimed John Lewis York store development - the world’s first BREEAM Outstanding Department Store - to developing one of the UAE region’s first net zero office buildings, and leading the technical teams on major mixed use sustainable developments in Abu Dhabi, Paul is focused on striving for excellence on every project he helps deliver.

He has 20 years of experience in project and program management, strategy consulting, financial analysis, and economic development in the United States, Moldova, and the Middle East.

Corrado Sommariva is a consultant of International reputation in the field of desalination, power generation, waste water and sustainability and Founder and shareholder of SWPC Fz LLC.

He has over 30 years of experience and has covered several executive positions in Consultancy firms for the last 20 years.

Dr Sommariva has published more than 100 leading edge papers and four books on desalination and sustainability. In 2015 he was honored by the President of Italy with the title of “Master of work”.
