Andrew Garbett
Senior Associate at Eversheds Sutherland International LLP
Andrew is a senior associate in the commercial practice of Eversheds Sutherland in Abu Dhabi. Andrew focusses on TMT and IP matters across the MENA region, with a particular focus on technology and digitisation projects. Andrew has over 15 years’ experience of TMT work, including contractual and transactional work on major projects for regional and global clients. Typical areas of work include IT projects and procurement contracts, due diligence on TMT issues (in particular software, OSS and escrow due diligence) and IP licences and assignments. A selection of his recent experience includes:

• acting for a major Middle Eastern bank on its IT acquisition contracts as part of a strategic digitisation project
• acting for a major Middle East telecoms company on a strategic IT system supply contract and subsequently on issues arising during the implementation of the project
• drafting a complete set of contract templates for a major IT-focussed division of a MENA government entity
• advising the MENA subsidiary of a global payments company, and a global FINTECH company, on regulatory issues governing their operations in the UAE

She has a particular focus on education sector, including safeguarding issues. She also leads the team's workplace health and safety practice.
